Honor Roll students get quite a few privileges at the dorms, but none of those privileges motivate the students to continue working harder. Students in good academic standings are not required to study during study hours, and they can be anywhere in the dorm during study hall. Many students work hard to get that advantage, but this advantage doesn’t work very well, because most students end up with low scores the following semester. This is the time to change this policy and introduce new rules! Most schools have “class ranking” system, and the top students from each class are posted on a board. This system works very well and more and more students try hard to get their names up on the list of “top students”. Students will work hard to get up on the list and will continue working hard to improve and hold their position up on the board. We can do justice to the students who are taking AP classes by not calculating their score or multiplying their score by a number which will make it equivalent to an Accelerated class. For Example, 85 * 1.1 = 93. We should also have “Certificates of Recognition” for the students scoring more than 85% each semester. This certificate will definitely encourage students to continue working hard and will boost their confidence. The students who cannot make it to the top ten will not lose heart and their hard work will not be wasted. This certificate will be written proof of their academic achievements. Practice doesn’t become “optional” for athletes who win races, hence study hall should remain a requirement for all students throughout the year. Furthermore, money prizes should be considered for top ranking students.

- I will put my suggestions in (parentheses): Honor Roll students get quite a few privileges at the dorms, but none of those privileges motivate the students to continue working harder. Students in good academic (standing) are not required to study during study hours, and they (are allowed) be anywhere in the dorm during study hall. Many students work hard to get that advantage(.) (But more often than not, students don't make the most of this advantage and end up with low scores the following semester.) (Now) is the time to change this policy and introduce new rules! Most schools have “class ranking” system, and the top students from each class are posted on a board. This system works very well(,) and more and more students (strive) to get their names up on the list of “top students” (, and to improve their position on the board.)
