Sex Change Recognition?

Should individuals who have undergone a sex change receive official documents (birth certificate, passport, driving licence etc.) reflecting their new gender?

2. Yes they should.
3. Yes they should. If they've already undergone the surgery(ies), they should be recognised by the gender they are after the change.
4. I haven't undergone the SRS part of transition and my documents now recognize my actual gender on them. SRS isn't manditory to have 90% of your ID changed where I live. You just need a letter from your doctor. One's documentation should be changed when they meet the requirements to change it. Identifying documents that are used in day to day life shouldn't be impossible to have changed over either.
5. i don't think the government would allow that to happen, cuz i think it would be against what god has given you in the first place.
6. As you go through the process you change some of the documents. I am pre-op living full time and my drivers license is changed with my name and sex, all of my other ID has my new name on it, including a new birth certificate. When I get the surgery I can change the sex on my Social Security, Passport, and Birth Certificate
7. Yes we should. Depending on which state you live in you may or may not be able to get the birth certificate changed. Ohio will not change it.
8. Yes of course. I can't think of any sane reason why not. I could however, mention several insane reasons that have been put forward. But i won't.
9. nope...they need the documents stating who they really are not who they transformed into
10. The obvious answer would be YES. However, policies vary country to country and state to state. Impossible to comment further without knowing where you live and where you were born. Are you asking because you need to know or are you just "curious"?
11. Yes they should but unfortunately not all states will allow some of the documentation to be changed
