- Well, here in california it is fairly easy. You just go to court with the letter from your surgeon and you can change your sex on your birth certificate. There is even a fee waiver for those who are low income After you get the new birth certificate as MtF you can marry a man.
- If you're post-op, it shouldn't be terribly tough if you live in a State that gives such things out. I think the standard practice to get legal recognition of your change is a letter from the surgeon who preformed the surgery and a letter from a doctor independent of the surgeon to confirm the surgery. If you live in Canada, you can get a note from your psychologist or endocrinologist stating that you live and function as female in todays society, and they sort of "approve" your female identity.
- Since nobody's given you an appropriate answer I suggest you contact Press For Change. I sure someone there WILL have the answer. edit: http://www.pfc.org.uk/node/294
- It's not particularly difficult; the main problems seems to be getting the appropriate evidence to satisfy the Panel, and the cost (I believe you pay a reduced fee if you're unemployed or on a low income). You should find all the information you need here; http://www.grp.gov.uk/formsguidance.htm
- I have little experience in this matter but i would think the best thing to talk to a doctor that know people who've done it, and/or a lawyer who knows... congratulations in advance ;)
