What kind of individual employee recognition programs exist besides employee of the month?
I am looking to try to implement a recognition program but our staff is a team of 18 and just dont want to do the employee of the month. Yet still want something where they can be recognized

- MVP, Top Team Leader, Top Producer, Best Team Spirit, awards that members of the team vote on for one person who they feel is the best leader, best attitude, etc. Get creative and think outside the box.
- I think with 18 people you are better off doing a quarterly recognition program, instead of monthly. I worked for a company with about 80 employees located in different offices throughout the US. We were able to recognize each other (i.e. I couldn't have finished the XYZ report without John's help) but customers were also encouraged to provide feedback. On a quarterly basis, a 1-page flier was put together with all the kudos. The people who got the kudos were entered in a drawing for a gift certificate (1 entry for each kudo - so people could have multiple entries). I think the gc was like a $100 visa gift card or something. You might need to change it up for the small office - have a kudos lunch and have the president read all the kudos or something instead of doing the filer. But I think something along this line would work. And also because it's really a peer/customer recognition, it doesn't seem like the boss is picking favorites. Which can be tricky in such a small group.
