Why would the state ask if I am giving out certificates from my preschool, in order to form my corporation? I am opening a preschool in NY State and we have recently filed to create our corporation. Problems with lack of recognition! Can you give me advise please? Ok so I'll try to explain this. Me and my GF are both involved student organizers at school. Due to a lot of inner fighting involving mainly her and other of the main student organizers a lot of drama happened thought the school drama. It got so bad that at some point she got called a B!%&* and even I cried once(trust me this type of things can be very stressful) Anyways things mellowed down but something bad happened today. There was a an award ceremony organized by the student union. My GF who has organized with me is the student trustee which is a position separate from the student union but still has some relationship. Imagine lets say she is a state senator and the student union is a city council. So anyways I got an recognition award for my organizing efforts and was featured on the events program were as she wasn't even mentioned. After we left the event she was for obvious reasons very upset. I ripped my recognition certificate to show her that I didn't care but she said that still didn't change what happened, that i was just hurting myself and her. She said that i deserved it and she left angry and sad to her house. And to make matters worse people whom we both thought didnt deserve a recognition got some awards too! I don't know what to do to make her feel better. If i had been given a chance to speak i would have recognized her efforts in front of everyone but there was none of that. Any ideas???? She is so hurt and I feel so useless... =(

We have an employee recognition program at work? which recognizes the employee for their extra efforts, and so forth. An employee will receive a gift certificate for a specific online company. However, our company states that all employees will get taxed on gifts received. i.e., gift certificate for xmas from the company $50 the employee has to pay the tax on the card. Is this legal? I don't think it is a very good incentive for employee's to pay tax on their own gift from the company.

Are award ceremonies in colleges and adult education really about the students? I'm asking this because the last two i've been to have been clearly about the college themselves. The local paper was there, teachers were praised for students getting marks and the actually handing out of certificates lasted about 15 minutes out of a 2 hour presentation period! I've no problem with teachers getting recognition but I was always led to believe that award ceremonies were for the students?

Hi Guys. Something happened today. What do you think of my kayak coach ? I've participated in a 5-day kayaking course . What are my chance of getting into an Ivy League school? i just finished my freshman year in high school with above average grades, but they are not that great. In all my core class, I'm in either honors of high honors (a level above honors). My grades for high honors are all A-'s and honors are A's. my school doesn't use the 4.0 GPA system but something different. I have 2 marriages, 2 children, everything that I have ever done in my present name.Under this name I cannot get a state identification even though I have a Dept.of Corrections photo ID. I am told that my name had to be corrected by my 18th birthday.Both of my parents are deceased for several years. Both names is on the certificate that was meant for me.I don't have any proof of the original name either.I have paid taxes, Social Security and spent the 64 years under my present name.If the year the law was inacted came after 1958 or '59 there is no way to have it corrected nor verified other than fingerprints and recognition by the DOC.What can I do? What are the best colleges/universities to learn Japanese in the US? I kinda figured the University of Hawaii would be good but I've heard some bad things about professors and the school being horribly underfunded. I considered Temple University's branch campus in Japan but they don't offer a Japanese language major. Just Asian Studies major and Japanese minor/certificate. I graduated HS in 2001 and I'm currently not in school, I work full time in retail *groan*. What happens when a pre-op transman marries? Hi, I'm asking this question for a friend of mine. He is a pre-op Female-to-Male transsexual. He won't be medically transitioning for years yet but is engaged to his (biologically) male partner. He is considering getting married to his fiance (so transman is still legally female and would be marrying his male partner) and then later on splitting and getting a civil partnership when he has his Gender Recognition Certificate. Should I be worried for my job? I'm a kitchen designer/sales. For 2 yrs its just been me & my partner in crime working & getting pretty decent sales.
